WebDuration Calculation. This calculator is designed to calculate the duration of a bond based on the YTM, coupon rate and remaining term of the bond. It also calculates modified duration and provides an estimate of the change in the price of the bond based on incremental changes in the YTM. WebDuration is measured in years. Generally, the higher the duration of a bond or a bond fund (meaning the longer you need to wait for the payment of coupons and return of principal), the more its price will drop as interest rates rise.
